This is a Cuphea in my sister's yard. Nothing she grows has ID tags... I've been calling this Cuphea 'David Verity' but I just wanted to get confirmation. I know that there are related, similar hybrids/varieties. Thanks.

Its certainly Cuphea ignea -- bit tough to ID down to a specific cultivar. Regards

Cuphea 'David Verity' is thought to be a hybrid of Cuphea ignea and Cuphea micropetala. So this is definitely pure Cuphea ignea and not that hybrid? I would imagine that a trained eye can distinguish the two.
