commonly called.. harry lauders walking stick ....

i lost my 10 year old plant .... a few years back.. as there is some blight going thru filberts..

but that wouldnt stop me from buying one ... again ...

there is also.. and i am stretching my recollection here .. some difference between rooted and grafted stock.. as to which sucker ... ah.. they all sucker.. but a grafted plant .. is probably not on contorted root stock.. so your suckers would not be contorted ... go figure.. lol... whats the point of grafting on a contorted .. if you already have a contorted root form .. eh??

so try to find rooted stock.. so your suckers will come true ....
