Fall blooming plant?

Does anyone know this plant? Sorry for the poor quality of the pic, but I forgot to take another before the plant succumbed to the winter. It bloomed in the late summer-early fall and stood about 2ft tall and the leaves were long, thin and seemed to come to a point. Thanks in advance.
