This plant is woody as you can see and has spread like a bush or shrub. It has been here for a few years. I don't remember seeing these seeds on it before. I had planted a mulberry tree in the area years ago and originally thought it might be it. It is in clay soil and I live in east TN. Not sure what the leaves look like. Please help me in identifying this plant, I've search all over the internet with no luck. Thank you for any assistance.
