Some kind of Scilla?

Between the stalks, and the leaf habit, that looks like a day lily.

Are you in Florida? May be non-native orchid Eulophia graminea.

Texasflip, Thanks. I was beginning to think I was the only one seeing the pseudobulb at the base of this plant!

I found a few growing in my mulch this spring in Florida, too. Too bad it doesn't have bigger flowers. :)

I'm glad that's cleared up. I was squinting at the flowers thinking 'Orchid' and then at the flower buds and thinking 'Camassia' and then at the base and thinking 'Orchid' again and then wondering about Asphodels - but I couldn't get them all to hang together into something I knew.

In future, it would be good to see the flowers against a plainer background. They're really hard to make out. We like a puzzle but you have to give us a bit of a start ;-)
