Pyrus kawakamii?

This looks a lot like that - but I don't see any blossoms, or evidence of any coming. I live in the Pacific Northwest, where cherry/plum/apple trees are currently in full bloom. Does Pyrus kawakamii bloom later, or not at all in the PNW - or does that mean it's something else?

I'd say Prunus lusitanica as well. Red stems are a give away.

Otherwise known as Portuguese Laurel.
