Which Amelanchier do you mean?

For A lamarckii the foliage is too pointy, and the tree on the pic has an unusual habitus for A.

Have never seen an Amelancjier lam. with peeling bark,

Going by the leaves, bark and branching, it looks like some Prunus/ plum/ wild cherry thing to me.

Thank you all, this gives me good chance to narrow it down.
Tree is growing between too many other trees in pretty neglected 'garden'. I know that none of them were tended to for more than 5 yrs. Only grass was cut few times/yr.
I have to do lots of work there & eliminate some trees, so I am trying to get them ID-ed.

thought it was possibly amelanchier canadensis.

A close up of the bark on a fair sized branch (but not the split part) would decide it. Does it have horizontal lines?

Definitely a plum, keep looking at those.

At the start we can see it is not an Amelanchier because those produce flowers in racemes, resulting in a tassel-, spike- or tuft-like appearance to the inflorescence. The veining of the leaves and branching habit are also different.
