Gound Cover Invader

I have Vinca Minor on my bank out back, and love it. Northeast Kansas. Recently I have an "invader", another ground cover that has taken hold, with a much woodier stalk. It would provide the erosion control I need, but it's not as pretty. Does anyone know what it is? Possibly a mutant variety? I sprayed part of it with roundup and it didn't seem to phase it. Thanks in Advance.
