Mystery Plant

This plant came up in the bottom of the hollow on my property where it's real wet, rarely ever dries out, in shade. It's evergreen. The leaves look similar to possumhaw viburnum, but according to the books, there are no viburnums, including possumhaw, that are evergreen, at least in this area. I have a problem with deer and rabbits eating much of what I plant, but they ignore this one, so maybe it's not native, something that got deposited here from a seed from somebody's cultivated, non-native plant by a bird?
I'm in the country in southeast Mississippi, halfway between Hattiesburg and Gulfport.

I took this picture when the sun had filtered through, to, hopefully, make a better picture. Anybody know what this is?
