Hello there. I noticed a very peculiar looking plant that sprung up and was hoping that someone would be able to ID it. It isn't very large, maybe 4-5 inches in height at most. I've attached a few pictures to help and I apologize for the iffy quality. I'll try to get better pictures with an actual camera tomorrow.

You can see some smaller leaves near the bottom of its stem that have turned green, the rest are a dark brown/purplish color. All parts of the plant are pretty hairy. The plants around it are wild African Wood Sorrel and not too far from it are my onions and carrots (along with some assorted common weeds). I live in Southern California. I've never seen a plant like this before so to get some closure on its identity would satisfy my curiosity. Thanks a lot!
