Need Help Identifying Aloe Plant

Hi there, I was hoping that somebody could help me identify my aloe plant, as it is in need of care and I am uncertain if I am supposed to split this plant like Aloe Vera, or if it just needs to be repotted.
Some of the base (stems/leaves?) are heavy and starting to droop. I am hoping it isn't too late to save this guy.
If anyone is able to identify it, so that I can see what specific type of care it needs, it would be much appreciated.
