Yes, looks like garden peas. Did someone throw out a packet of dried peas? Give them some twiggy prunings to climb. See the tendrils? They want to scramble upwards.

make sure you fully Id these plants.. BEFORE THEY SEED ...

or you will have them all over the yard .. wait .. you already do.. and that should tell you.. that they probably are a potential nightmare...

on my 5 acres.. i have it in the lawn in various places... and if i were still a lawn warrior.. it would be a very big problem...

i see little upside to retaining such in garden beds ... unless we ID it as some wonderful cultivar.. which i doubt ... and though i might leave one or two for ID.. i would not allow hundreds of them to grow ... cull the vast majority now ....

These are garden peas, Ken. I don't believe there's any doubt about the id. They are highly unlikely to become problematical - indeed they could well provide a tasty vegetable in a few weeks if the heat doesn't get them. In the OP's other post I suggested that they may be the result of a previous owner sowing green manure in the Autumn.

Mystery solved - my husband threw a packet of pea seeds out in the yard. I think I'll take the advice of the poster who mentioned giving them some twiggy prunings to grow up; they are nitrogen fixers, so it'll help my poor soil. I'm not one that's quick to pull out weeds - we've got clovers growing all over and straggler daisy makes up most of our lawn. If it's green and wants to grow, it's fine with me, so I think I'll just leave them.

Tell your husband to stop pea-ing in the yard.

Watch for the white flowers and later pick yourself some delicious fresh peas.
