What is this succulent looking plant w/ white rosette & red tips

I found some lab manuals at our school with a cover showing a ground cover of some type that looks like a white rosette with very substantial & dramatic red tips. It resembles Hen & Chicks or some type of sedum or sempevivarum but I can't find anything like it on the internet.

Any idea what this is?
