Hi all, I'm trying to identify some of the local herbs in my yard and I came across this plant. It is the only one in my yard I can find like this. The spine of the leaf has red thorns and the plant stem is covered in red thorns. No flower that I saw, and it was about a foot tall.

Unfortunately, the weed is now completely gone, as it was weed-wacked before I could snap a better photo.

any ideas?
