The wood has a reddish tint with the same consistency and odor/taste more or less. Smooth bark that very much reminds me of alder. But I cannot find a name for it. I can take some more pictures tomorrow if nobody guesses it. I am regretting not taking a picture of the stalk because they are uniquely bent and twisty and seem to be designed to break. I believe it is one of it's propagation method near flowing water
