| 1st plant is a small globe of white flowers at the top of the plant and looks like it might be something in the mint or garlic family, 2nd appears to be growing on a crawling vine (no visible tendrils)and has cream colored flowers that grow on a stalk from the same joint as the leaves, almost looks like some kind of flowering grape vine.
here is a link for both:

I have been trying to id these all spring and can't find anything at any of the web sites I visited; TIA

I think No 1 is wild sarsaparilla, Aralia nudicaulis, but this is not my area. No 2 appears to be a member of the Ribes family - a currant or gooseberry. A lax shrub rather than a vine. I don't know which ones would be around in your region.

I agree with nonmember...whichever baneberry is native to your area, that is probably the one.
Here is a link that might be useful: Actaea pachypoda

For the second, I go with Flora on the Ribes sp. Probably Ribes americanum, black currant. It's native in your area, and for me, it's a far more lax plant than red currant. And the blossoms aren't the same as my red currant. I'm having a difficult time finding which other species might be local to you, so don't know if there are even other possibilities.

The first is definitely either red or white baneberry (Actaea ruba or A. alba/pachypoda), both can be found in my area, I guess I won't know for sure until the berries mature this fall/late summer. The confirmation came today when I went back to take some followup photos and all of the flowers (that you see in the link) are now replaced by very tiny berry buds (I will be updating the page for this now id'd plant and will include the new photos). I haven't verified the 2nd plant yet but will post as soon as I do. Thanks, everyone, for sharing your expertise.

Thanks for the lead mytime, it does appear to be Ribes americanum, it is native to my area as well as being listed as a noxious weed here in Michigan. The photos and descriptions at http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=RIAM2, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ribes_americanum, http://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/wetland/plants/wb_currant.htm, confirmed it. Thanks again.

Red baneberry is a beautiful plant, but I have young grandchildren so until they get older, I make sure I disbud it before the berries form. Interesting about the ribes being a noxious weed, since it is a native plant. I guess it's because of being a host for white pine blister rust.

The berries finally ripened enough to ID them as Actaea alba, white baneberry, and they do live up to their other common name "doll's eyes" because that is just what they look like when they are ripe.
