I would appreciate any help in identifying this flowering shrub. It has small purple flowers with five petals, and clusters of slender leaves. It is flowering right now (mid-late spring) here in NW Kansas. It is located on an unused farm and isn't given any care. I don't know if it will bear fruit of any kind later or not.

I don't know if it is a native wild plant or something my grandmother might have planted decades ago that has since naturalized.
