Unkown vining plant?

Posted by AngZ 7a (My Page) on

I just moved. This plant was bare in early March but by late march- early April it began to bud. I looks like some sort of vining plant though it seems to be supporting itself with nothing else to grab on to. It seems to be growing well in a part shade area but I have not been able to narrow down just what the heck it is. Anyone recognize it?

I wonder if it might be one of the Buckthorns.

Looks like Celastrus orbiculatus which can do a lot of damage to trees.
