Picture of a palm at Tulum ruins, Mexico. Beautiful seed display - what type of palm is it?
Thanx, hortster

Adonidia ? AKA Christmas Palm as the fruit generally ripen red around Christmas somewhere (not around here, but that's what I've been told)

From googling, sure looks like it. Must be last year's or maybe an early season set? At the top of the original picture there was a new, immature set of clusters that might likely grow and turn red by the holidays.
Thanks, cocoabeachlorax (do you speak for the palms?)!

I actually picked that name because I feel like the Lorax around my little ones (at the time 3 and 5 I believe), shouting and hollering with no one listening about the destruction to come.

They're now 5 and 7 and have a great love of gardening and plants, so apparently they listened to some of what I said, but they still can make a mighty mess. ;)
