Red Maple seedlings or something else?

My neighbor has a very pretty maple (japanese maybe? it has dark red leaves) in his front yard close to my side. I spied these little seedlings popping up in two different spots in the side yard between our two properties. Do you think they may be seedlings?

Well, color me silly! I got snookered by the reddish colors and blinded by the thought that maybe it was a japanese maple, lol! Found another one out in my front flowerbed this morning too!

Thank you everyone!
