Having trouble with this one. It sprouted up in my yard this spring. Is it stinging nettle? Also looks a little like raspberry?

I don't think so. I have a lot of nettle and this looks more like a blackberry or other to me. Leaves on nettle are more delicate, different growth pattern, and nettle does not have thorns on the stems.

RE: Stinging nettle?

Looks like a nettle to me but slightly different from the ones we get here. There is one way to find out. A light touch will sting but it will soon fade.

RE: Stinging nettle?

Looks like much of the Urtica dioica I've seen.
