What is this plant? Are the berries poisonous?

Please help! This plant is in my parent's house and they take care of my young child who tries to eat the berries sometimes. We have moved the plant, but I want to know what it is! It has red and green berries on it (you can't see the red ones in the photo). I am told it is several decades old. Thanks!
