Could it be Summer Snowflake - or amaryllis?

The leaves don't look like the crinum leaves I've seen, so I'm thinking that's not it...
I'm leaning toward amaryllis due to the fact that many of the transplants died after we planted them and what they all had in common was the fact that I planted those bulbs at ground level and the entire plant rotted away. The surviving plants all have their necks above ground, which is how amaryllis is supposed to be planted.

It's Clivia minata, a common outdoor plant in SoCal although a houseplant most everywhere else. aka Natal or bush lily. Should have bright orange flowers when it does bloom or less commonly, yellow.

I'm 100% sure it's not clivia. We have tons of clivia and they have thick, dark green leaves as opposed to the thin, light/medium colored foliage. Plus, these are in the sun and they haven't fried, which clivia will.

Agapanthus doesn't form a bulb. It has thick fleshy roots. I would say something like Amaryllis, Amarcrinum, Crinum. All stuff common in So Cal. The flowers will tell you. It's not aggresive enough to be a problem, not a weed, so wait until you get flowers and come back with a picture that will easily ID it. Flowers likely quite pretty, so worth the wait.

I've gotten really impatient with these plants. At first I thought it would be fun to have some surprise flowers in our walkway beds, but I'm dying to know what they are! They haven't produced scapes yet, but some of them are already producing new plants off their bulbs.
Oh well, I'll just hope we're still living here when they bloom so I can enjoy them :)

Amaryllis.

It's almost time!!! After waiting forever to get some blooms, most of the plants have sprouted buds and I'm <I>thisclose</I> to knowing what they are!

I've been assuming they're a type of amaryllis/hippeastrum, but the first bud to split looks like it has flowers that may very well be agapanthus (Queen Mum), but I thought agapanthus don't have bulbs?

From this picture can anyone help identify the plant? I'm too impatient!
