Anyone know what this is?

So I have these popping up in my flower bed, which is super wet due to massive rain we have been having. Anyone know what they are?

Top one could be Plantago major. Has it just been watered? They don't usually look so bright a green.

It is indeed plantain.

Flora, Plantago major is that bright green at my place right now. It is every spring. Given where the OP is, their plants and mine would be about at the same stage of spring growth.

Annie, plantain (Plantago major) is one of my favorite herbs for bug bites and salves. But if you don't want them in your garden, they pop up very easily with a garden trowel.

Interesting, Fatmorgana. They have a more matt appearance in my experience here due to a very slightly hairy surface. Do you think that in N America they are beginning to produce a subspecies?
