Plant in the border - a weed?

Posted by julieherb 8, UK (My Page) on

Hello there,

There is a lot of this plant throughout one border in our new house. It looks like it self-seeded. It is taking ages to flower - will it be worth the wait? 12-15 inches high. What do you think?

Thank you!

Campanula persicifolia - peach leaved bell flower. May be blue, or white if you are lucky. It seems the previous owners put in suitable plants for semi shade. I see Aquilegia vulgaris, Primroses and Heuchera too. And possibly a Hosta off to the left. But those edges need doing ;-)

Thank you so much. Just looked at a picture of them in flower & they are lovely. To think that I was tempted to rip 'em out cause they look a bit tall and gangly... And yes, I will get on with weeding and edging the border - that's my next project!

Good luck with your new garden. I see you have tulips in there too so watch out for bulbs as you go. Come back if you need to id any more 'weeds'.
