Found these at my grandfathers house. I had just stripped the bed about 6 weeks ago. He said these things sprang up in about a week or so.

The picture is small and a bit fuzzy. Can you get a bigger picture? And how tall are these? And is your grandfather in NJ?

I can't see it very good but could it be Goldenrod?
|
Photobucket is the best way to post pictures rather than uploading them. It does look a bit like Goldenrod.

If it is this goldenrod, should it flower?? These things are about 6ft tall. They seem to keep falling over & braking in the wind.

It is very similar to a type of sunflower that I planted last year and is coming up again in the same place I planted it last year.
