Just discovered this in my garden. Only about 3" tall altogether, finger & peach pit gives a bit of scale. I'm fairly certain I didn't plant it:

Fata - I suppose it could be, though I've never seen one that looks like this. We tend to have Geum Canadense showing up in gardens out in the 'burbs, and I suppose this could be it. Maybe I've just never noticed them when they've been this small? Perhaps I'll test my patience & see if I can get myself to leave it be to see what develops.

Young plants are hard. Once it gets bigger I'm sure it will be an easier ID. :)

carrieb - if you use Photobucket it's best to copy and paste the html for your pictures into your message. Otherwise we are able to see all of your albums if we want to. I'm sure most of us don't look but your privacy could be compromised.
