Second is def some type of fennel, not sure of the type tho. Salt was dead on the poke weed. Hate the stuff myself! My Granma used to eat it. Careful with the berries as they will stain...even after birds eat them.

Dog fennel is not actually type of fennel (Foeniculum) but a Eupatorium. The common name comes from the ferny appearance.

Another friend said the Rockport folks should get rid of the pokeweed fast, because the birds eat the fruit and the seeds then come up everywhere!
