Leaf close up

It really makes it more difficult for us when the posts do not contain some suggestion as to what part of the country this might be found. Sometimes we get posts from whole different continents with no hint that they are. Knowing your hardiness zones don't hurt, either. Is it in the wild or in a garden? Does it appear to be climbing or mounding up something? I ask, because I'm not sure what it is, but it looks very like a vine I have called decumaria barbara. The common name is wild hydrangea, and that would be a native of certain parts of the U.S. and not common in the nursery trade.....why I ask it's situation. I can't tell much about the blooms from your picture, a closer shot ......head on......would help.

Hi thank you this is in Maine. It's on the edge of my lawn where um manicured trees and shrubs grow. I've dealt with Japanese knot weed in the past and didn't know if this was some mature version of it because of its arrow like leaves. Not a vine or climbing up anything it is tree like in appearance for its bark.

I wonder if this is Tea Olive (Osmanthus fragrans). The blooms have a very sweet scent and the plant blooms in Spring and/or Fall. I have one in my yard but it only blooms in the fall. It's very large and when it's in bloom it's wonderful.

Not positive but that's what it looks like to me.

Looks like the leaves are opposite one another on the stem? My vote would be some type of viburnum.

Viburnum lentago has those pointy leaf tips.
