Can anyone ID this Oxalis?

Hi Guys

I have had this Oxalis, which grows from small bulbs, for well over 10 years and although it has 'spread' it is far from invasive. Its best characteristic, by far, is the fact it is totally dormant all summer before bursting into life mid to late autumn and then grows and flowers continually all winter, before dying down again in mid spring. Winter temps here can get down to -8C but normally I would expect to see -4C as the lowest. This would make it equivalent to Zone 9 in USA, I guess.

Just to give an idea as to size, WRT the Corepsis grandiflora and roses, both of which are just finishing their season.

Oxalis purpurea white form? Whichever it turns out to be, the pictures are lovely. :-)

Thank you TulsaRose. That would seem to be it.
I must also say that some of the other coloured forms would look gorgeous mixed with the white, but unfortunately unless I can locate any one with them already growing, here in Australia (any Oz members reading this, please let me know which you have), I have ZERO chance of getting my grubby little mitts on them. Here in Oz, Oxalis is clasified as Demonic. The Government Quarantine Service here works by the rule that everything is evil unless you are prepared to spend a fortune to convince them that a particular plant isn't going to bring about the end of the world. :-))

Oh, I like your idea of adding another color to the scheme. My eye is always drawn to the pink\purple colors so I especially liked the Oxalis purpurea 'Garnet' featured at that link. And it has the added bonus of purple leaves. :-)

Maybe you could post in the Bulb forum with a request? I'm surprised GW doesn't have a forum for members from the land of Oz. They have every other freaking category you can think of. lol!

I guess the government has to get involved with invasives of all sorts but it can be a PITA sometimes for gardeners. ;-)

Yes TulsaRose. I do understand where AQIS (Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service) is coming from because we have a good record of getting it wrong. Rabbits as food for the early convicts; the Cane Toad to eliminate a pest it didn't feed on; Opuntia (Prickly Pear) to host the cochineal insect to dye the army uniforms red which led to more than 24 million ha (>92 million sq miles) becoming impenetrable by the 1920s. They are still a PITA though.
As for why they don't have a forum for Oz.? Simple - a) most Aussies are too laid back (aka lazy) to bother and b) Australia is the back-end of nowhere to most of the world. :-)))
