I smelled it before I saw it. Covered with these flowers and about 3-4 feet high. The flowers are about an inch across, leaves about the same. Any ideas?

An azalea, likely a native one in which case it is deciduous.
|
There are small-flowered deciduous hybrid azaleas on the general market at this time also. I suspect this is one of those.

Thank you! I had never heard of deciduous azaleas before but it is now my quest to find one locally.
