This one reminds me of pokeweed.

That was my thought as well when I saw the picture this morning but I didn't feel confident enough to suggest it.

I'm not convinced about teasel. The stem is not prickly and I don't see the prickly pimples on the leaves. I'm thinking Lactuca maybe L virosa?

I'm positive it is not Dipsacus fullonum. Those leaves are opposite and sessile. They form a cup and hold quite a bit of water around the stem. I think the other teasels have a similar nature and would be counted out too.

If it helps any, this plant and the other one I posted were growing at the edge of woods and she said they are about 8 ft. tall. And I believe she lives in Virginia.

It may turn out to be Lactuca floridana. Let it grow and flower.
