Identifying This Beautiful Tree

I found this tree in my yard that is so unique. I really like it and have searched everywhere trying to identify what it is. Does anyone have an idea why kind of tree this is?

Might be yellowwood. Does the petiole completely cover the bud?

Pictures are quite small, but I think lycopus nailed it as Cladrastis lutea....sorry bad habit...Cladrastis kentuckea.
