Hi!
I have found what I think is an arboreal moss. After a heavy, windy downpour, I found this in a street bordered by a lot of tall trees.

The plant has a central pad from which radiate a lot of strands, and on the strands there are more pads, some of which you can see in the sample image. The central pad was brown, as if it had been attached to bark. The rest of the pads are light green and don't appear to have attached to anything.

Is this moss? And if so, what kind is it? Its form fascinates me! I live in Raleigh NC if that helps.
