Yellow flowers on tall stem

Please someone name this plant.
Yellow 5 petal flowers growing on 3 foot stems. Brownish red center.
Maybe it is just a weed.
Not sure if it is perennial or annual here.
Flourishing in extremely dry clay soil and full sun.
