Hello,
My friend got this a few years ago when his mom passed away. I need to identify it because it is not thriving. Thanks! The leaves grow straight up and then "unroll".

It's Strelitzia nicolai (Giant Bird of Paradise). It looks fine in the picture. Why do yo say that it is not thriving? I would transplant the Dracaenas planted around it though.

It looks to me like it might have been to close to the window and gotten sunburned. If this is a southerly exposure, it should be moved and it will probably be okay.
