Need help identifying a tree

I'm new to learning about plants and trees, and have been reading a lot and trying my best to identify everything in my area. So my apologies if this is a stupidly simple question. But can anyone identify this tree? I saw it (and a bunch of others like it) on Mt. Sugarloaf in western Massachusetts.

Congratulations - that looks like a Pecan, or some kind of Hickory, nut tree?

Here is a link that might be useful: Hickory

Thanks very much! I think you're right, and from comparing different hickories, I'm fairy confident it's a pignut hickory.
