Name That Plant!

I have no clue what this is

I can only figure out how to post one picture. But this bush is in my front yard near the road. It has a purple flower blossoming right now and it has these green pods on it. The pods are rock hard, never seen a bush like this and I would love to know what it is, so i can decide if its staying.

That could be the Wisteria x formosa hybrid (cross between W. floribunda and W. sinensis).

It grows pretty bushy. From what I've read it's not the Japanese wisteria that grows huge vines. But it's not really useful or attractive.
