gardeners out there who can tell me what this plant is? It is growing on the shady side of the house we are renting. It gets very tall and right now has heads that look like dill.

I would be nice to see close ups of the leaves and the flower.
Try using something like photobucket to share bigger pictures.

A bigger picture may help. From what is available it looks like angelica

Where are you located? Try looking at pics of plants in the Apiaceae family...possibly one of the Angelicas? As esh said, more detailed pics are needed!

Please do share another picture with a close up of the leaves and stems.

It does look rather like an angelica. I grow angelica (A. archangelica) in my gardens every year. They are gorgeous plants - it's a pity they are biennials.
