I'm not sure, but curious to know, since I just pulled this plant out of my own bed as a weed. The seed pods worried me--they look as if they could sow acres of baby plants!

I agree, geum canadense. It does seed itself around quite a bit. I pull them when they appear in my flower beds, but welcome them in my woods where I've been removing invasive plants and they help to fill in the space.

Thank you all. I am keeping it for now. I have a soft spot for natives and it's in a wild-ish area of my garden. I will however pull it out of my strawberries.
