Isn't the "feather shaped leaf" a samara/seed pod? That's not the same as a bract, is it?

A samara is a dry, indehiscent fruit with a winged margin. The bract in this context is a modified leaf subtending the inflorescence, not part of the fruit. The actual fruit is more of a nutlet.

This tree is still in bud but the bract is already there and will remain after it has fruited. Samaras form after pollination.

'Blossom' means flower. As I said, it is in bud now so it will flower any time soon. After the flowering/blossoming comes the seed. The sequence is Bud, Flower/Blossom, Fruit/Seed.

As carrieb said, you will notice the delicious scent of the flowers and probably the sound of bees which love Linden blossom. Makes great honey.
