| First I need to mention that I planted quite a few seeds directly in the dirt, and then cats came along and messed everything up. I suppose I helped, after they'd dig up stuff all over the place I'd go out with the rake and level it back off, needless to say, I have no way of knowing where a lot of the seeds ended up, as most of the things I planted needed to be planted just a 1/4 inch deep. Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano, Dill, Broccoli, Carrots, Onions were the ones sown outside.
I am absolutely new to gardening, I just took it up and I'm just starting to get some sprouts. Yesterday I notice these. I'm fairly positive they're just weeds/grass, but I'd like to see if anyone can confirm before I go ripping them up outta the ground. |

| I don't know what the sprouts are except to say they are not any of the seeds you mentioned. Cats are a menace to seedbeds and you need to keep them off newly cultivated areas. You can use twiggy prunings or chicken wire. Don't wait for damage - protect the earth as soon as you have sown. |

| Cats are no longer a problem, they've been relocated (they were just stray cats) and I've since started all my seeds in a green house tray indoors and will transplant them after they get their first set of true leaves. Thanks for the peace of mind so I can now rip these things out. |
