Does anyone remember cress growing on creek banks?

I'm not sure I'm even in the right forum but I thought I'd just ask if anyone remembers the name of a plant that grows on creek banks- almost in the water and usually around rocks. I could swear my Mama called it cress but I'm just not sure. I believe it's edible and would just like some confirmation. If you remember that, please let me know. Thank you.

Perhaps Nasturtium officinale?

Here is a link that might be useful: Nasturtium officinale - watercress

Watercress is a possibility, though there are also members of the genus Cardamine that are called spring cress or bitter cress.
