Mystery house plant!

Hello all, I have a mysterious plant that I can't seem to identify. If anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate it!

It is about 18" tall. Leaves are a deep green, slightly shiny but definitely not waxy. Leaves are 4-5" and grow one at a time from the top of the plant. They are long and thin. Trunk is evidencing some thin bark as it matures but is still green for the upper 2/3 of the plant.

I have four plants (two pots with two each) and each has shot out one branch. I trimmed the branches to keep the plant growing vertically, though I wonder if I should have done that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Compare with Ardisia elliptica.

That's definitely it. Looks pretty invasive, though I doubt it would survive our winters. Either way, I'll definitely keep it inside.

Thanks so much, it's great to know.
