| Dear all,
This fern was abundant at Balsam Mountain campground along a lush, green, wet, nature trail amongst fir trees. Any idea as to its id? Thanks so much in advance!

| I expect it is a type of Dryopteris, perhaps Dryopteris marginalis if I had to guess. |

| Dryopteris marginalis isn't that finely dissected. Perhaps D. intermedia, though it is difficult to tell without seeing the bottom of the frond. |

| After looking at line drawings of both species, I'd have to say I agree with lycopus. |
