| Sprouting on a hillside in a planted area. Multiple stems and (probably) herbaceous. Originally looked like it could have been a young kerria but the shape at the leaf base isn't quite right. |

| This was from a friend; haven't seen the plant in the ground myself. If they're correct it does back to the ground in winter; that wouldn't fit kerria. Plus from all the leaf photos I've seen of kerria, the leaf base is much more rounded and blunt than this sample. I haven't found photos of very small/young kerria leaves, however. |
