Succulent that looks like a hen-and-chick but may not be?

Hello all! I use this forum constantly when Googling for information, so finally decided to join! I'm a container gardener with a small balcony and lots of sun in Southern California. :)

I recently got interested in succulents and am playing with all types. My neighbors just moved out and left a large tray of neglected plants behind, which I rescued and would now like to revive. The problem is I don't know what they are!

My first guess was that they were hen-and-chicks, because the rosettes look similar. However, the leaves are somewhat less thick and more flexible than succulent leaves I'm familiar with, and also, the plant seems to have very long, thick woody stems, which I don't see on any photos of hen-and-chicks I've Googled up so far. I thought maybe it was just a neglected one,but would like to be sure.

So, could anyone possibly name this plant? I can provide more photos if necessary! Thank you so much!
