when I first came upon these, I was somewhat enchanted, too. Until I learned a bit more about them and saw how aggresive/invasive they can be.

Thank you, but that seems to be more of a 'grassy stem'..
What's here is defiantly more of a Chive style stem.
But then again, what do I know..

Comments: Flowers only last a couple of days, but many are produced on plants. It spreads quickly and considered an invasive weed by some. All parts should be considered poisonous, but may be eaten when cooked. It may poison grazing livestock and children should avoid the plant.

they'll live on top the soil with bulbs exposed, they'll live a foot under the soil smothered...........I've battled them in my formal beds for two and a half decades. Nasty beasties.

Agree with Star of Bethlehem & agree with getting rid of it - before you can't anymore.
