unknown plant

This plant was growing along the front of my bay window through a crack in the between the adjoining concrete path and the house wall (not very good for foundations). It reached about 6 foot (1.8 metres)with long straightish single stem with leaves alternating on eitherside. Since this seemed a tough plant and liable to thrive with little attention I transplanted scraps of it(most of the roots were under the concrete) it and it has recovered well.

RE: unknown plant

Looks like Kerria japonica 'Pleniflora'. It is pretty tough - a very good choice for dry shade, which is always a challenging situation.
