I have tons of these growing in the shade. They are a little fuzzy. I noticed one had a brown shoot coming straight from it . I'll try to get a pic of it.

If the leaf is plucked and pressed onto your shirt, does it stick there? Maybe Picris echioides, bristly oxtongue if so.

Compare your plant to Verbascum blattaria.

I would agree with Fata that it's something in the Asteraceae. It's going to flower any minute now so maybe we can have another shot?

It is not Verbascum blattaria, but not sure what it is. As soon as it blooms we will all probably know immediately,lol.

I agree, it is not verbasum blattaria.
Fata, it is sticky on the top but not powerful enough to actually stick to clothes, at least not mine. Most of the center stalks that i can find are without leaves and just a dried flower on top. I tried to get a few more pictures this morning. Hope this helps. But so far, i cannot catch any in bloom.

May I suggest a type of Elephantophus?

Woohoo!! Thank you sooo very much seedmoney!!! I have Elephant Feet in my back yard.. tons of it!! :D Awesome.. hmm.. what is Elephant Foot good for? lol *pause for research* Ah Ha! Found something!
